Change can happen in the most unexpected ways and places. You just have to keep your mind open.

Updated: Sep 16, 2020

My first guest, and friend, Candice Puthawala experienced this first hand when Chocolate appeared in her dreams!

How do you start creating the life you want when you don't even know what it looks like?

Candice asked herself this same question when she stepped away from the fashion industry which she had thrived working in for nearly two decades.

Although she was able to prosper in her career, Candice knew that the fashion industry was causing her overwhelming amounts of stress that began taking a toll on her body. She desperately wanted out of her current situation in pursuit of a new life for herself. After months of soul searching, trying out new things, putting herself out there and learning new skills, she finally figured it out! Her dream life would have to incorporate all the things she's passionate about - nutrition, health, beauty and of course chocolate! And that dream manifested in the form of Beauty Bar Chocolate.

How do you know it is time to move on from your current situation in life?

If the pain of being where you are right now is greater than the joy you would feel from being somewhere else then that my friend is how you know that it's time to move away.

Some tips from me

What do you do next when you don’t know what you want to do yet?

1. Start listening and trusting in yourself

People are going to feel scared for you. All change in life is scary but it can also be incredibly rewarding! Start listening to your gut and trusting your instincts.

2. Try something you've never done before

Try becoming comfortable with the uncomfortable. Fight the internal dialogue in your head that says you aren’t good enough to do something. That voice in your head is "BS" (if you know what I mean!). You're beyond capable and can do anything you set your mind to!

3. Find a community to lean on

Find people who you can lean on that have been in your shoes. There are communities out there. You just need to start looking for them. If you can’t find one? Create your own!

4.  Identify what brings you joy

If you are a creative, bring creativity back into your world. Lean on your strengths and start doing the work that makes you smile.

5. Embrace the fear

Creating the life you want is scary. There are risks involved, lots of uncertainty, and moments of failure. But don’t let it hold you back! It is not easy, it is not a straight road and it is not an obvious win either. There are risks attached but the payback is that you'll grow so much from the process of it.

6. Enjoy the process

Celebrate the process that comes with creating the life you want. Do not measure your success by public milestones. Enjoy the process of becoming the best version of yourself.

And please don't be afraid of sharing because you know what they say about Sharing! .... It's ok to interrupt your friends from time to time, especially if that means helping them, even in the smallest way ever.
