Don't miss your opportunity.
You may already know this about me. I founded a blog called Discover Out Loud in 2015, which turned out to be quite a successful platform for those into my style (luxury travel, brands, events and people).
But here's what you may not know...
I was then in an utter state of desperation. I had moved to Switzerland a couple of years prior and was still feeling a bit off track and out of place. I had made some friends, had freelanced a bit and had an App called ShnapIt with my husband (which was consuming way more time and money than we cared for). But I wasn't creatively and socially fulfilled. I didn't feel like I fit in my new city.
I wanted to do something but had no idea what or how. But what I was clear about was my WHY - I needed a space where I could be creative, meet interesting people and make money. Getting to the blog was not a clear path or easy process. I wasn't the best writer, photographer or model. I didn't even like doing any of these things.
So why a blog you may ask?
Great question!
I had limited financial and creative resources. I had watched a friend of mine with the same circumstances start an Instagram account and kill it and thought to myself, if she can do it then why not me? I was so clear about My WHY that there was no other recourse than at least trying. What did I have to lose?
So many time, I cried myself to sleep because I had no idea what I was doing or was supposed to do. I felt like such an Impostor.
My point? If you struggle getting your idea off the ground, you’re not alone.
It doesn’t mean your idea is crap. Or that you’re not meant to “do this.” Or that someone else has done it better. Or that no one will benefit from it.
Please don’t make the same mistake as so many have — waiting and waiting for everything to be perfect or for someone to show up and save you.
Do you want to know what helped me?
My WHY! In my gut and heart I knew that I had to do this. I had to prove to myself (and others to be honest), that I have what it takes to do something great and reinvent myself in the process. That my circumstances will not deter me from wanting more and better for myself. I am the only one who can dictate and drive my happiness and success. All I had to do in the end was sit down and do the work no matter how daunting and scary that was. "Clarity comes from Engagement" - #MarieForleo.
One step at a time. One foot in front of the other. And don't obsess about the end product, just focus on the process and the learning along the way.
Are you struggling with this? Are you frustrated or anxious and have no idea where to start?
That's where my guests on my weekly webinar came into play!
I'm super excited to share my platform with a young, dynamic and unstoppable duo who gathered all their talents, knowledge and dreams and bundled them up into one big idea.
